How do in / residence subscriptions work?

Our subscription plans are designed to provide you with an easy and accessible way to furnish your home with high quality, professionally curated furnishings that have been designed for your space without having to incur the up-front costs, design fees, and time commitment involved in designing and furnishing your space.
With in / residence you simply select your unit, style, and package and we do the rest.

What happens after I submit my subscription information?

A member of the in / residence team will contact you to finalize your subscription items, terms and delivery.  If we find that an item in your package is not in stock or available at the time of your delivery, we will give you the option to choose a similar item from our collection or remove the item from your subscription. Once your move-in and delivery dates are scheduled, you will receive an electronic subscription agreement which must be signed and returned to confirm your subscription.

Is there a minimum subscription term?

Typically, the minimum subscription term is 12-months.  However, we aim to match your subscription term to your apartment lease, therefore your actual subscription term may vary depending on your apartment lease.

Can I renew my subscription?

Yes.  At the end of your subscription term, if you plan to extend your lease or remain in the same building community, you can easily renew your subscription for the same term as your new lease.  Renewal subscriptions within the same unit will receive a 10% discount.

What happens at the end of my subscription?

If you are not renewing your lease, your subscription term will end at the end of your lease term and we will schedule to pick up your items on your move-out date. If you renew your lease, you will have the option to continue to subscribe to the items you have for the same subscription term as your renewal lease. Renewal subscriptions within the same unit will receive a 10% discount.

How will I be charged for my subscription? Are there any other fees?

There are no hidden fees or extra charges with your subscription.  We only collect your billing and payment information at the time you sign your subscription agreement.  The payment method you provide will be charged on the delivery date, and monthly thereafter until the end of your subscription term.

What if I don’t like an item in my subscription package?

Simply let us know.  We check each item before and after delivery to ensure no damage, but if you find that something is not to your liking, we will make every effort to find a suitable replacement.  We want you to love the home you live in.

What if I need to cancel my subscription early?

Life happens.  Just let us know and we will adjust your subscription.  Subscriptions that are cancelled early or prior to any trial period, will be subject to an early termination fee equal to 50% of the remaining payments of your subscription.(E.g. If you have to cancel your subscription after 9 months you will pay 50% of the remaining 3 monthly subscription payments)

Can I change my style or package?

Absolutely.  One of our core beliefs is that preferences and needs change over time.  Living well while experiencing new designs and styles should be easy and accessible, not painful and costly.  We constantly edit our styles and product collection to provide you with fresh and inspiring spaces you can call home.
Prior to the end of your subscription term you will have the option to renew your subscription keeping the same package and style, or refresh your style.  If you decide to refresh your style without changing your package, your monthly subscription will remain the same.

If you would like to change your package or style prior to your subscription renewal, there is change fee equal to one monthly subscription payment of the new style and package you select.

Can I buy my furnishing and decor items?

Yes, you have the option to purchase any of your furniture items at any point during your subscription.  The purchase price of any item will be the retail cost (or adjusted retail cost for any lightly used and renewed items) less the payments made during your subscription term.  If you are interested in purchasing any of your items simply Contact Us.

Our Home Furnishing Collection

Where is your collection from?

We source our furniture and other home goods from a variety of suppliers around the world.  In many instances we work directly with partners who supply or manufacture goods for high street retailers.  We also source decor and accent items from a variety of boutique and artisanal producers. Sourcing and editing are the lifeblood of what we do, and the fabric of creating our style concepts and spaces.  We constantly refresh our collection so that you have access to the most relevant objects that have been curated from the thousands of pieces we see. We are also working to create our own dedicated line of items to better meet the needs of our subscribers.

Are the items in my package new?

Many of the furniture items in your package will be brand new, while some will be renewed and restored to like-new condition.  We inspect all our items to ensure you don’t receive worn, damaged, or otherwise unrestorable items. Our inspection and cleaning process is designed to ensure that you will never receive damaged or unclean items that we would not keep in our own home.
If you would like to receive entirely new items, please let us know when you submit your subscription details and we can provide you with adjusted subscription pricing.

Are you products sustainable? What happens after my subscription is over?

While not every item we source may be produced sustainably, we believe that by sourcing high quality goods that can be renewed, we are creating a more sustainable approach to home furnishing than the simple “fast-fashion” model of low-cost, low quality, and limited life-span goods that are sold by many retailers.  We are also working to partner with a variety of low-income housing projects in each area we serve to provide lightly-used home goods that don’t meet the standards to remain in our collection but have considerable useful life.

Are mattresses included in my subscription?

No.  Unfortunately, due to various state health and safety laws and regulations, we cannot offer mattresses as part of your subscription.  We do however, have partnerships with a selection of high quality mattress manufacturers that we can offer to our subscribers at preferential pricing.

What if I accidentally damage, stain, or break one of my items?

Normal wear-and-tear is part of life.  We want you to make the most of your home furnishings and not worry about the day-to-day.  In the instance an item is severely damaged or stained, we suggest you contact us as soon as possible so we can assess the damage and determine if the item can be restored.  In the rare case that an item is damaged beyond repair, you will be charged for the replacement cost of the item on a reduced basis.

For even greater piece-of-mind, we offer an insurance program that covers all the items in your package for an additional monthly fee, with a standard one-time deductible.

What about pets?

We are pet friendly!  We simply ask that you let us know at the time of your subscription that you have pets in your household so we can provide you with items that we’ve learned may work better with pets, and also allow us to follow the appropriate cleaning process if your items are renewed.

What about pet allergies?

We are human friendly!  If you have severe pet allergies just let us know and we will ensure that any items that are not new and out of the box will not be provided in a pet-friendly subscription.  While our cleaning process is thorough, we want to ensure your safety, comfort, and good health.

Delivery & Assembly

Is there any additional delivery or assembly cost?

No.  It’s that simple.

How does delivery work? What if I am not available?

We aim to deliver and assemble your package just prior to your move-in date.  Since we work closely with your building community, we are able to gain access to your unit before you move in so that your items are ready and waiting for you.  If you notice any issues or have any concerns, you can contact us upon moving in.

In the instance that you have already moved in, or are refreshing your subscription, we will work with you to schedule a delivery appointment that fits your schedule unless you authorize a representative of your building to accept your delivery.
